4 times in 4 years

Last night as I was thinking about the move to the new house next week, and I realized we have moved 4 times in 4 years. The first move was from Ohio to a rental here. Then a year later we moved into a house we had built. We thought that was gonna be the house we lived in for quite awhile. We were content. Then chaos happened......the kids got redistricted to another school 30 minutes away that was rated 224th in the state, whereas the school they were in now is ranked 13th. Also, having just moved them from Ohio, how could we move them into another new school??!! So....we did the only thing logical. We put the house up for sale! We sold after 6 months, moved into a rental for 5 months, and next week are moving into a new house! This one is in a neighborhood pretty much right across the street from the school. No more redistricting for my kids! And I know my kids are happy to NOT hear, "We have a showing," for a long time!
The last 4 years, have been crazy busy. I know everyone says it, but I seriously feel like they have flown by. And I wish I was happy to say I am a good packer, but I don't wanna be a good packer,(hear that whining in my voice?) I don't want to know how to expertly wrap China so it can handle move after move. But now I am so ready to unpack for the last time, well, the last time until Thomas graduates. Then these empty nesters are outta here, but that's a discussion for a later date.
What I have realized through this all is that a house is a house. What matters is the people inside it. And the people inside my house, wherever that is, are all that matter to me. It's been hard though, and I am tired. Wow, am I tired. I can go on though, I can always go on when I have 5 people who mean the world to me, no matter what house, or where we live. If they are happy, I am happy. The kids didn't want to switch schools, as their protector I made sure they won't. Done.
