Having Fun at Grandma's house!

The weather was perfect, mid-80's.  When the kids weren't swimming or riding bikes, they were watching Disney movies.  They were enjoying their vacation....no doubt!  Grandma made all their favorite food and had an endless supply of soda!  Kid heaven!

Playing hooky!

Last week, we had Kayla and Kenzie here at the same time for spring break.  The kids had school so there was not too much we could sneak away and do.  But on Monday I let Tana play hooky and we got up at 3am to drive the girls to a beach in Florida.  We got there at 9am, spent the day, and got home at 9pm that night.  It was so worth it!!  We had great weather, saw dolphins in the ocean, found lots of shells, and most of all....enjoyed eachother's company!

All grown up....(almost)

Tana went to a dance last night for charity.  As I dropped her off and she headed to the door, I was just so overcome with emotions.  Emotions of love for my little girl, so proud of being the woman that she almost is, and yet a sadness....she is not my little girl anymore.  The one who loved Barney. The one who said 'milt' instead of milk.  The one who loved dressing up in all her Disney princess costumes.  The one whose first word besides mom and dad, was ball.  The one I used to drive around in the middle of night to try and get to sleep.  The one who slept right between Daddy and I.  The one who I sang "You Are My Sunshine" to every night.  The one who will always be my little girl, no matter how grown up she becomes.  I love you Tana Marie!

The Mountains of North Carolina

We went skiing for the first time here in North Carolina.  It has taken waaaay to long, but the winter has been the mildest in years and snow, or even cold weather, has been scarce...everywhere!  But we caught a weekend that was fairly good weather wise and headed to the mountains.  As soon as we have a normal winter, the mountains will be great, this time they were just okay.  Despite that though, we had a good time.  The runs are a lot longer than Mad River, and we all like that a lot.  We went to Sugar Mountain one day and Beech Mountain the second day.  Sugar has a run that is one mile long, our legs were tired by the end of that one!  Since the snow was unseasonally low, the terrain parks were not open......Casey was bummed.  We found a couple jumps, but not what he was hoping for.  As soon as the weather gets back to normal we will head back up there!  It was still a good little ski trip......
