Second Thoughts

All the kids are in school.  Today was the first day.  I walked Thomas and Kyle to their classrooms, and Tana and Casey took the bus.  Tony went in a little late to be able to see them all on their way.  But now that they are gone.....I just want to go get them all and bring them back home!!  Of course I am scrutinizing all that I seen when I was there, thinking I could do it better at home.  I promised myself I would raise my kids to have a better childhood than I did.  So if one thing goes wrong this Mama Bear is bringing her cubs back home!!  Okay, I know I need to quit being so defensive, and I am sure I will....in time.  And as long as they are happy, I am happy.  But my heart is aching right now.  I have never been a parent that can't wait to send their child off to school.  I truly do enjoy my kids.  Sniff, sniff, enough of this.  I need to get up, quit blogging, and keep busy.  And pray their first day goes better than we could have ever imagined!!
Jeremiah 29:11  "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
I know God has my children on the path that HE has mapped out for them, HE is in control.  I give this all to Him.

Times Are Changing

I have so many pictures to blog of our trip to the beach and our trip to Long's, not to mention all the parties we had before we moved, I am so far behind!!  I do have plans to get all caught up soon.  The kids are starting school this Thursday!  I think we all have so many feelings going around about this.  Tana is excited, yet really misses all her Ohio friends, and I am right there in that category with her.  I could not imagine what she must be thinking to be starting high school with just a few new friends under her belt.  She is taking it all with such an amazing attitude though, she is so positive and uplifting.  Nothing will bring her down because God lifts her right back up!  Casey has tons of friends due to football starting as soon as we moved.  We even went to a team pool party this past weekend to meet all the parents.  We all had a good time and met lots of nice families.  Casey is one who does not show much emotion anyway, so I am not sure how he is feeling.  I wish he would talk to me more, but boys are just so different than girls.  I can only pray he nor Tana shut me out as they enter this new adventure with public school.  I hope they always remember how much Tony and I love them, and would do anything for them.
Kyle and Thomas still show plenty of emotion, quite loudly at times, and said that they would rather homeschool.  It makes me sad to send them to school, but they need to meet more friends.  The neighborhood has tons, but they have not found that one buddy that they are asking to play with as soon as they wake up yet.......like Charlie.  Thomas and Charlie were inseperable, and Kyle loved playing with them too.  Boy do we still miss Ohio!  However, I am opening up more to our new home.  Still weird to even think this is home??  As long as my kids are happy....I am happy.  We now move from a very flexible school schedule that was our own, to someone else telling us what to do, I hope that Momma bear can deal with that ok.  I hope we all can.  We shall see how this new journey of public school goes........

Still adjusting to life in the South

Wow, has A LOT changed over the last few months!!!  And things have been just SO busy that I have been putting this blog last on my list.  And truth be told, the move has been hard, harder than we thought.  Leaving family and friends behind.......harder than we ever expected.  But we are trying to adjust here.  So much to tell, where do I begin??  Well, the kids are all enrolled in school and start next week.  Tana and Casey want to go, Kyle and Thomas would rather homeschool.  I just knew that putting them in school would be the quickest way to meet friends so I want them to give it a shot.  Casey made the football team.  60 boys tried out and 33 made it.  Tana is taking all honors classes and one advance placement class.  Casey tested in the gifted program for his classes.  Kyle starts soccer soon, and Thomas starts flag football next week.  We have had visitors from Ohio already!!  Dyson's came and Brandol's came.  We even spent a couple days at Myrtle Beach with the Brandol's!!  That was fun, and much needed!!  Gosh, we miss our friends so very much!!  We just got back Sunday from a trip to Long's Retreat where PaPa and Grandma Mindy spent the long weekend with us there.  I have tons of pictures to post, but need to carve out some time.  I will soon!!!  For now, gotta run and make dinner.  Then off to football.
