My baby is 21!

Kyle, Tana and I  started the day off with breakfast at Luna's Living Kitchen, all vegan food, and they even made us Mimosa's for the newly legal of age drinker!  Adulthood begins...
We then headed to Yoga for a relaxing and mind cleansing time before the dinner celebration later that evening!

Since Thomas couldn't make dinner that night due to football he and Tana had lunch together at Moe's for a special little brother/sister time.
I drove Tana around after Yoga so she could collect all her free birthday goodies!

We finally got all dressed up and headed to Fahrenheit in uptown for dinner and drinks.  It is on the roof of a hotel with a stunning view!  Tana got to buy her first drink at the bar and it was a Moscow Mule, gosh she is just like her Dad!

I am still in awe that she is 21 already, it sounds so cliche but it seems like yesterday that I was dressing her up in Gymboree outfits and taking tons of pictures of her looking so cute.....maybe that's where her selfie obsession started, hmmmmm.  I am so proud of this girl turned young woman.  She is bold yet humble, confident yet sincere, and when she's home the house feels complete again.  So many people calls us twins when we are out in public, complete strangers will come up to us and say how much we look alike, and I couldn't be more honored to be compared to her beauty.  Tana Marie you are beautiful inside and out, and I love, love, love being your Mom!

Crowder Mountain Hike

When the temperature is 96 out with a heat index of 102 why not take a hike?  It was actually an amazing day with great weather, the hike was shaded and even had a breeze.  I had my beautiful daughter and my guard dog by my side, it was a great day!

State rings have arrived!

He'll always be my little boy

The thing is, my kids are growing up.  Time is truly flying by.  I still have days where I am in denial of my age, and that I will have 2 now in college.  Casey leaves in about a month to attend Chapel Hill with Tana.  So even though he thinks he is becoming a man and leaving home, he will always be my little boy.  I can't help it, I will always want to make sure he is okay and wonder if he needs me.  He is going to be fine, and manage all on his own because I know Tony and I have prepared and raised him to the best of our ability, with the help of the Lord of course.  I am just so proud of the young man he is turning into.  I have no doubt he will thrive in college, he will do well, he will study hard, he will have lots of fun, he will take full advantage of the unlimited meal plan we got him, he will not wash he sheets until after I have reminded him 10X to bring them home for Christmas break (and then I will probably be the one washing them), he will miss my cooking, he will miss Roscoe the most of everyone, he will get sick his first time being away from home and it will be hardest on me not being there to take care of him, and he will be missed by his Momma so much that my heart hurts already thinking about it a month early.  I love you Casey Joseph!  Don't ever forget okay?

Any day is a good day on the lake!

The day began with dragging the kids reluctantly out of their comfy beds at Papaw's house and heading to Indian Lake to spend the day on the pontoon.  After about an hour drive or so, we got all the paperwork taken care of, loaded up coolers, snacks, sunscreen and towels, and began our ride around the lake.  Skies were cloud covered.  The lake water was a bit chilly.  But it didn't take long for the tube to get hooked up, sunscreen to get applied, cocktails poured, music blaring, laughter filling the air, and smiles that lasted all day!  At 5pm we headed back to the dock with sunburned cheeks, wind blown hair, tired bodies, and lots of good memories!  It was a great day with people I love the most!

4th of July week!

The Alfieri Clan came to visit us and WOW did we keep busy and have fun!  In 3 and a half days we went to White Water, SouthPark, California Pizza Kitchen, Sports Connection, The Quarry, Waxhaw Creamery, Stacks, and the Charlotte outlets.  It was a great week filled with lots of laughter, love, and tons of fun!  I need a nap!
