20th wedding anniversary!!!

I planned a little getaway for Tony and I. We got married near a holiday so truth be told, it's hard to get away. But this year will be 20 years so I figured we deserved one night, right? Especially before all the chaos of family coming to visit and cooking a huge Thanksgiving Day meal. I booked a one night stay at a local hotel with dinner reservations and a couple's massage. I thought I had done pretty good. But Tony kept asking about other ideas and just didn't seem on board. I was getting frustrated with all the talk, why weren't my plans good enough? I was thinking at this rate we won't celebrate any more anniversaries! I gave him a hard time about it too, oh you bet I did. We just decided we would plan something at a later time. I wasn't too happy. 20 years is a big deal! I know we can't jet off to Europe right now at this stage in our lives, but something should be done, at least I thought so.
Our anniversary is in a few days. But last night we had dinner plans from a couple weeks ago with Melanie and Scott. So I thought nothing of the night more than a good time with friends we love, we have done this with them before.
We picked them up and headed to the restaurant, or so I thought. We pulled into a neighborhood and at first I thought Tony just needed to turn around. But he kept going further into the subdivision. What the heck was he doing?! I began to suspect we weren't going to a restaurant.
We pulled up to someone's house. I was thinking what the heck did he do? An anniversary party? No! I don't feel like being social. Lol! We knocked on the door and was greeted by two ladies welcoming us all in with glasses of Prosecco! The lady who welcomed us in was a professional cook named Heidi who was going to teach us how to cook a farm to table meal with all locally and organically grown items. I was shocked! Me speechless.....that does not happen often. Tony and her had been planning this for a few weeks!
Tony and I went to a farm to table restaurant in Asheville this past summer, and he remembered how much I loved it. They created a menu based on that restaurant. It was an amazing night, with amazing food, amazing friends, and most of all an amazing husband!
And yes, I apologized for being just a wee bit snippy about thinking we had no plans! I guess we will celebrated many, many more anniversaries together now!
