Nationals in New York, Day One!

When Kyle ran the Sprint Medley last month they qualified for Nationals in New York City!!!  So I booked flights and hotels for a mini vacation for Dad, Kyle, and I.  As soon as we got off the flight we headed to the hotel, Hilton in Times Square.  We checked in, dropped off our bags and headed out to explore the city.  First stop was a local pizza place around the corner from our hotel, John's Pizzeria.  And it's true....there is no pizza as good as New York pizza!!  Next, Grand Central Station.  It was gorgeous!

Then we shopped and shopped some more until it was time to get ready for Wicked!!!!  Times Square was amazing, so much to look at.  But yet, crowded and annoying at the same time with people passing out flyers and people dressed up as characters try to get you to take a picture with them and then charge you!

We stayed in the same hotel as another athlete, and one of Kyle's good friends, Leah and her mom Lisa.  We all saw Wicked together, and loved it of course!  Except Dad, he said it just okay.  We should have just sent him to the pub.

This was our view from the hotel, I loved where we stayed!
